Part Time 'Alim Class

Alhumdulillah, at Jame'ah Uloomul Qur'an, Leicester a Part Time 'Alim course is also conducted for local students.

The part time 'Alim Course was initialised for those students who whilst studying in secondary school or college wanted to enrol in the 'Alim Course. Therefore, allowing the students to attend their schools / colleges during the day, and study the 'Alim Course during the evening. Additionally, it also benefits as a taster course into the subject for those students who intend to enrol in the Full Time course.

Course Details:

The part time 'Alim Course is arranged so that students can complete first two academic years over a period of four years. Classes run from Monday to Friday from 5.00 pm til 8.15 pm.

Enrolling students must be able to read the Qur'an with basic level of Tajweed and should also be able to read and understand basic Urdu.

Anjuman is held on a weekly basis where students are required to prepare a talk (Bayaan) on a topic of their choice. The student then has to deliver a talk on that subject in front of the Darul Uloom students. This is an attempt to prepare students to be able to give talks and sermons once they graduate.

Requirements:

Enrolling students must be able to read the Qur'an with basic level of Tajweed and should also be able to read and understand basic Urdu. Students who are over the age of sixteen can only be enrolled in the Full Time Course as there are no schooling facilities.

Examinations:

  1. Internal assessment (twice a year):
    • Mid year (winter examinations)
    • End of year (summer examinations)

    Any student who achieves less than a total percentage of forty will not be permitted to proceed to the next year.

    Similarly, any student who fails two subjects will not be able to proceed in to the next year.
