Jame'ah Girls Academy (JGA)
Jame'ah Girls Academy (JGA) is a Darul Uloom for girls with schooling facilities. JGA was established in 2001 to facilitate the secular education of Girls who have chosen to memorise the Holy Qur'an or start the 'Alimah Course at an early age.
The Jame'ah Girls Academy caters for both Primary and Secondary sectors of education and teaches the Islamic and Secular subjects simultaneously from year seven onwards.
Admission Procedures:
The study of both Islamic and Secular subjects is demanding. Therefore, assessing the ability of the student is essential before admission.
The ability of candidates is tested through:
- a. The assessment of English & Maths.
- b. Latest school report.
- c. Latest Madrassah report.
Students who are already enrolled in the Jame'ah Girl's Academy at year 6 cannot be guaranteed a place in year 7 if they are not able to meet the demands of the Islamic and Secular curriculum to be studied in the secondary years.
Course Details:
When joining the Jame'ah Girls Academy, students have a choice of joining either The Hifz Course or the 'Alimah Course along with their secular education.
Requirements:
Students below the age of five cannot be enrolled in the Jame'ah.
Rules & Regulations:
The Jame'ah has a set of rules which each parent and student is required to follow. A full set of rules is given to the student on the day of enrolment.
Rules relating to Absences, Lateness, Truancy, Holidays, Complying with Shari'ah Dress of Code and Hairstyle, Bullying, Learning and Memorising, Examinations etc are just a few of the topics discussed within the Jame'ah's Rules & Regulation guides.
Holidays:
The Jame'ah has a set holiday schedule which has been developed over the years taking whilst taking into consideration both the parents and the students. This schedule is given to parents to ensure that holidays are not taken during the Academic Year.
The Jame'ah, over the years, has been developing its methods and procedures for examinations. The students are given an end-of-year examination during June / July. This allows us to assess each student and confirming whether he is capable and ready to move onto the next Academic Year (August).
Students are examined internally, through written exam papers, and externally, through oral examination.
Examinations are given on the subjects the student has studied over the year and thereafter a report is also given to the students.
Students who fail the exam, or have not attended a sufficient amount during the year will be made to repeat the year.
